Synod 2023

The PPC reviewed and responded to the "Working Document for the Continental Stage" (DCS) of the worldwide synod. This document combines all the national inputs from around the world into a single document which will be discussed and debated in continental assemblies with inputs provided into the final document to be agreed by the universal Church. In reading this we felt that this document was something that all members of the church (our parish) should read as it showed the views from around the church and highlighted common areas that it was felt should be addressed in the Church.

The PPC, on behalf of the Parish, provided our response to the document as requested by Bishop Declan on 4th January 2023.

Our Synodal response

The report is about the synodal process as it took place in the Parishes of Chard, (including the Churches and Mass centres of Ilminster & Crewkerne, together with the Parishes of Somerton and Langport.

We decided to work together as at this time we share a parish Priest and are geographical neighbours.
